The short version
Kong Reviews tells you what to build with, what to run it on and what it will cost. That answer is only worth something if no vendor can buy it. So the people who use Kong Reviews are the only ones who will ever pay for it, and vendors can't pay for anything that changes what we recommend.
What we charge for
Today, nothing. Every tool, on this website and in your AI app, is free while Kong Reviews is in preview.
Later we plan to charge subscriptions to the people who use it, for things that cost us money to run or that teams need, such as tracking your real bills against the plan, more saved stacks and alerts, and team accounts. Planning a stack and seeing what it costs will stay free. Before anything is charged, the Pricing page will say exactly what it costs and what it includes.
No vendor money in rankings
- Rankings come only from fit and cost. A vendor is recommended because it meets what you need and costs least at your size, worked out from its public pricing page. Nothing else goes into the order.
- No paid placement. No vendor can pay to be listed, ranked higher, featured, or kept out of a comparison.
- No affiliate or referral links. Links to vendors go straight to their own sites. We earn nothing when you sign up for, or spend money with, anything we recommend, so we have no reason to steer you to one over another.
- Startup perks are listed for free. When a vendor offers credits for startups, we show them because they change what you pay in year one. Vendors don't pay us to list them.
- Vendors can correct their facts, not their rank. If a price or a plan is wrong, anyone (a vendor included) can tell us, and we check it against the vendor's own pricing page before it changes. A correction can change a price; it can't buy a position.
How you can check
Every answer lists its sources and the date each price was checked, so you can open the vendor's page and see the same number. The price changes page shows every change to the catalogue and where it came from.
